Thank you for considering adopting a rescue Sheltie! Sheltie Rescue adopts out purebred Shelties needing new homes for a variety of reasons. We screen and approve adopters throughout Northern and Central California.
If you have a Sheltie you can no longer keep for any reason, please contact us so we can match an approved pre-screened adopter home with a verified Sheltie lover to your Sheltie, or we will bring your Sheltie into foster care until a suitable home can be found. On average 50+ adult Shelties needing homes every year are matched to adopters.
Volunteers foster homeless Shelties in their homes to ready them for adoption. Care includes vet exams, vaccinations, treatment as necessary, and temperament evaluation. All are spayed or neutered prior to placement. We are an affiliate of the American Shetland Sheepdog Association Rescue Network www.assa.org. Shetland Sheepdog Companions of Northern California is a 501c(3) charitable organization and donations are tax deductible
